About Coach Lowell Ann Fuglsang

How I got started in this work:

After twenty years in career and employment work with the Canadian federal government, it seemed natural to find something constructive to do following an early retirement, and Workstyle-Lifestyle Consulting became a reality. My consulting work took me to many communities in northern Canada where I worked with emerging leaders in the new territory Nunavut. I soon discovered that two or three day workshops were a great start for participants, but continued support and encouragement were necessary for the application of new skills and approaches, so I began to provide one-on-one telephone support. Later, I learned of an emerging new discipline callled Coaching and realized that I had already discoverd it. I learned a lot more from Thomas Leonard and Coachville and hired my own coach before I decided to add formal coaching to my repetoire of services. Coaching felt just right because of its similarity to career counselling I had practiced for years.

What Inspires me:

The most inspiring activity for me is staying current in my field and branching out into new fields of interest. I have been particularly inspired by Peter Senge's Fifth Discipline , Michael Gerber's E-Myth, Steven Covey's Seven Habits, First Things First, and 8th Habit, Frederic Hudson's Life Launch and Esther & Jerry Hicks' The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent and The Astonishing Power of Emotions.

More recently, I've developed an interest in all of Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad books and games, as well as Derek Foster's Stop Working and The Lazy Investor.

Current Special Projects:

Efforts to overcome the isolation of solo entrepreneurship and the desire to enact my dearly held values of relationship and collaboration, have led to some alliances with some very talented people:

  1. The Million Dollar Women: Myself and Chrystyanna & Anglique Queensley of Communciation House have developed a a new program Joy of Money Investment Club for Women.  Visit the website for details.

My Leisure Time Joys:

Health

Maintaining good health is very important to me.  My fitness partner and I do an hour six mornings a week.  Two day for walking, two for swimming and two for circuit training.  It's great way to begin a day!

Creative

Quilting and sewing take up my Sundays. I do enjoy crafting some of my own wardrobe. Photography is a new interest that I have been learning with the help of teacher Andrew Kielbowicz of Going Digital

My Environment

My indoor and patio gardening give my a great deal of pleasure. It's great to be able to tell all my northern friends and clients about the flowers that are in bloom throughout the winter.

Community

I participate in Victoria's famous Gettin Higher Choir. It's a great way to meet like-minded folks, connect with our love of music and support a community in Mozambique.
